Introduction

Firstly, I would personally like to thank you for visiting the Creative Insight Workshops web site where you will find drawing, photography, and creativity courses for holidays to Spain. On this and the following pages, follow the links in the menu above, you will find information about our life-changing workshops. Creative Insight Workshops are unlike any other traditional creativity, drawing, photography, or art workshops you will have seen. Here at CIW we specialise in workshops that are designed to be concentrated in content, stimulating and challenging to you. We will help you maximise your learning experience so that you benefit the most during your time with us whether you are learning drawing, photography or simply being more creative.

The Emphasis on Creativity

Our drawing, photography and of course creativity workshops strongly emphasise creative thinking using teaching techniques and practical exercises that are based on the latest perceptual, psychology, and creative thinking research being undertaken by gifted scientists and educators around the world. These methods: tried, tested and refined over many years by educators worldwide, are known to maximise your potential and 'unblock' your creative mind (often referred to as 'the creative child within' or 'The Artists Way').

We want everyone who attends one of our workshops to become a more creative, and therefore more complete, person. When you leave us you leave with a new and fresh approach not only to whatever art you enjoy but also to your life in general. That's why we refer to our drawing, photography, and creativity workshops as 'life-changing'.

Can anyone be creative?

The simple answer to this question is YES! We are all born creative and we are meant to create, whether you create a great work of Art (with a capital 'A') or simply create a garden table out of old wooden boxes. The act of creation is something all human beings naturally strive for but if this inherent desire is not harnessed in some way we cannot be a complete person. Just like many other people, what may be holding your creativity back is an inability to 'switch on' your creative mind at will. We can easily and quickly teach you how to do this so you can gain access to your own 'creative child within'.

Creativity Blocks

Creativity blocks are those nagging thoughts that float around most of our heads constantly telling us we are not artists so how can we be creative. Most people at some time (or many times!) have experienced the painful mental torture of the 'creative block'; painters, photographers, writers, actors, singers are all affected, so you may identify with what I am saying.

Here at Creative Insight we have the solution! If necessary, a revolutionary technique will be incorporated into the workshops on a group or individual basis for those that feel they need help to overcome their 'individual creative blocks'.

Many creative blocks have an emotional basis, e.g. 'I haven't the confidence to draw because I can only draw stick people' or 'As a child my mother always told me Photography was a waste of time' or 'My older sister always made me look a fool when I painted pictures', etc, (you know the ones for you!), and can usually be removed quite easily and quickly! This frees you to be more creative and build your confidence.
